Miesha Tate: Bantamweight or Welterweight?

Here are some items taken (and paraphrased) from the interview:

According to Miesha Tate, she actually injured her bad knee, which is why she was unable to push the envelope and do much more than her usual groundwork.

Miesha says she wanted to beat Marloes at her own game, and that she really wanted to end it via TKO, but did what she could to capitalize on the situation and get the win.

She said when she was in the choke, it didn’t feel good, but she wasn’t ready to tap either. She also said her wrestling skills are unique in her division and that she has one of “the best” ground games due to her wrestling, and it outmatches most of the girls in the 135lb division.

Her injuries made it so she wasn’t 100%, and it was hard for her to do a lot of things and hurt herself on the ground at one point, making the fight more difficult for her to keep up the pressure. She freaked out in the first round ’cause she hurt her knee. When she got to the 2nd round she had to concentrate on putting the pain from her knee injury out of her mind.
